A few years ago, a fairly popular women’s magazine featured me in a “hot mama” article. Yeah, cool…whatever. Not the focus of this story.

At that time, the PR firm I was working with framed the article and it’s on the wall of my office: the cover of the magazine with the article about me inlayed. Along with some other notable magazines / press mentions…just so ya know…but I digress.

Anyway, the cover of this magazine I was in just happens to feature a fairly popular actress whose daughter just happens to be in the same class as my eldest son this year. SO, cut to lunch today:

“Mom, you have a pretty cool job,” says Jaden. “I like telling my friends that you have a cool job.”

ME, beaming: “AWWWW! Thanks baby! That makes me feel great!”

“But, you know, [girl in his class]’s mom was on THE COVER of the magazine you were in, so that’s way cooler. Just so you know.”

…sigh.
